Ladies and Gentlemen
In 1881 Władysław Żeleński - the greatest opera composer after Moniuszko - introduced a collection of preludes for organ Opus 38. After more than a hundred years from their inception we proudly present the first recording of "25 2-, 3- and 4- part preludes for organ or harmonium".
In this way we would like to realize the composer's aim who wrote in the introduction to the preludes: "... My goal is to use national and sacral melodies and give them a popular form with an aim of popularization".
I would like to cordially thank Everyone who helped make this record especially Julia Smykowska without whose enthusiasm the recording would not have come into being.

Dziś nieliczni wiedzą, że [Władysław Żeleński] skomponował cykl "25
Preludiów", w których zamknął echa polskich melodii (...) mistrzostwo
niektórych z tych miniatur (...) dorównuje dziełom Cesara Francka.
