Adamek Magdalena, piano

booklet: Magdalena Adamek (Polish, English, French)

Magin was a multiple prize-winning pianist at several major competitions and, after recovering from an arm injury in the mid 1960s, recorded a Chopin intégrale for Decca. His piano works are often based on national Polish elements and his language is derived from Szymanowski and the French post-impressionists, often pushing the bounds of tonality but always remaining approachable. Ranging from thoughtful to violently virtuosic, these pieces should please piano collectors in general and Polish music collectors in particular. Records International
