The present disc comes in the wake of the project called the International Flute Academy, shared in 2010-2011 by three European cities: Poznań, Bergen and Reykjavik, in cooperation with the following educational institutions from Poland, Iceland and Norway: the Ignacy Jan Paderewski Academy of Music in Poznań, the Universitetet í Bergen/Griegakademiet in Bergen and the Reykjavík College of Music in Reykjavík. The record is also a kind of a crowning achievement of many years of artistic cooperation and friendship among the three flautists: Ewa Murawska from Poland, Áshildur Haraldsdóttir from Iceland and Gro Sandvik from Norway.
The album features four pieces for flute composed specially for the International Flute Academy project by four Poznań-based composers: Barbara Kaszuba, Maria Ćwiklińska, Artur Kroschel and Janusz Stalmierski. The final result, which the listener will find on the record, is an effect of close cooperation between the creator and the performer during the process of composition and recording.
